World of Motorcycles, the official Ducati South Africa importer, has just announced that their latest batch of motorcycles has arrived and the shipment includes the new Diavel 1260 and Diavel 1260S.

Initially, the Diavel was powered by the 1200cc Ducati V-twin motor. Then came the X-Diavel, which employed the 1262cc motor later seen in the Multistrada 1260 also.

Now the original Diavel has been completely updated and features the new Testastretta DVT 1262cc, variable valve timing motor as well as an upgraded chassis.

Punching out117kW (159bhp) and 129Nm, and weighing in at 233kgs, the performance has to be experienced to be believed, while the handling is as good as any naked sports bike, despite the large section rear wheel.

The riding position and ‘power cruiser’ ergonomics so popular with first-generation Diavelisti remain unchanged. What has changed is the chassis set-up; the new Diavel sports a prominent new tubular steel-trellis frame. The rear wheel – 240 mm wide and 17-inch diameter – remains a Diavel hallmark and, together with the new chassis set-up, merges further improved handling and lean angles with outstanding comfort levels.

The Diavel 1260S gets fully-adjustable Ohlins suspension front and rear, dedicated wheels and top-of-the-line braking components..

The electronics package includes Bosch Cornering ABS EVO, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Ducati Power Launch (DPL) EVO and Cruise Control. The S adds Ducati Quick Shift up and down.

The Diavel 1260 costs R275,000 and the ’S’ model costs R313,000. The more cruiser-styled XDiavel and XDiavel S are also available at R295,000 and R339,000 respectively.

All models are currently in stock at World Of Motorcycles in Centurion. Talk to Bruce or Roy to arrange a demo ride. Call 012 756 0600 for more details.
